I miss Michelle. More than usual today. We’ve been getting in touch with each other a lot over the last couple days, drifting back into that easy familiarity. It’s more, though – more open. I want for things to be like they were over Christmas and New Years, the good bits at least.
Brisbane is an odd city. I’m spending a day at the beach – the fake beach – and I get offered an interview. Didn’t know it was that easy. Not quite the field I was looking for, but it’ll tide me over until I find full on tech work. For the time being, I’m going [...]
Sunset is a beautiful time of day. I remember talking to Michelle about making a film, shooting only at sunset, or that hour around. Things get a really nice feel about them.
Almost the end of January already. This year seems intent on rushing past me. Found a place to live that’s in the nice part of town and only a 10 or 15 minute bus ride from the downtown core, depending on express or no. It’ll save me the challenge of things like feeling as if [...]
Stayed at Tom’s brothers place last night, as the extension of a rather quiet Australia Day party. Good company, great food, nice bed. Charles is living with his girlfriend and her mom, so I felt I shouldn’t impose for too long, even though they were all very welcoming. I’ve left the majority of my stuff [...]
Owen is back, didn’t see him at all this weekend. He was apologetic, but when it comes down to it, this weekend to myself, away from everything and on my own was exactly what I needed. Staying here, with an absent host, meant not having to be in any specific mood at any certain time, [...]
North Sydney station. The coke machine is still here. Missed the train to Chatswood by seconds, so took one to North Sydney that came after. Don’t know why – it’s not like there are more trains that go from North Sydney to Chatswood than the City. But at least it feels like I’m on my [...]
I like Sydney. The tech/Asian feel. Internet Cafes and secret eateries, tucked away in the most unexpected places. At least in the Chinatown. Or is it called that anymore? Good place. May come back here multiple times.
In Sydney and I keep expecting to see Michelle around the corner. The streets remind me of her, the train stations, the locations. I’m good when I’m doing something new, or doing something with other people, or at least doing something. Maybe not just anything, but something that keeps my mind off her absence.
