Very good energy, very good responses from everyone I interact with, problem is it seems too easy and I’m influenced by the pending departure. I’ve just got to London, and I’m already gone.

Eight and a half hours of transit with 2 hours of lunch in Porthmaddog – three and a half by bus, the balance on the trains. Another 2 hours or thereabouts to London, after a very speedy transfer in Birmingham New Street Station – saw and heard some antsy people on our delayed train from [...]

A wonderful day with my uncle Alex. He met me in Bangor, we travelled by bus to Porthmaddog and he pointed out many of the sights. I marvelled at the rocks and cliffs and the not-quite-mountains-but-more-than-hills. I’d call them foothills to a missing mountain range.

North Wales shoreline contrasts ancient castles built into timeless cliffs with communities of mobile homes – houses so transient that they have wheels.

A weekend full of people after a week on my own. A lot less time for writing, but good interactions, always feeling as if there was too little time spent with anyone, but I’ve realized that I fly back through the UK on my return, so can do the same all over again.

Now back from a Manchester United game. Good times there, an experience that was unlike anything I’ve ever been party to. There’s such a strong synchronization and connection within the crowd. And a huge crowd – 69,000 people or thereabouts. Massive.

A relaxed morning with Kevin and Mary after a relaxed, albeit late, night. Both following an overwhelmingly frenetic 30 hours or so.

Just outside of Leeds – right now in York station. Meeting up with family in Leeds. Got on the train at 10 AM, and slept most of the way here – it was a late night late night.
