Perfection

Let me tell you about perfect blue skies, the quarter moon rising over pure Potrero stone, a stark white in stunning dark and rich blue, and I’ll tell you about today.

Das December?

At some point I starting thinking this was December. Not too sure why, but time of year seems to be a bit of my weak suit at the moment.

Rock Climbing

A good day of climbing caught me by surprise. I wasn’t sure that I wanted to get out on the rock, but Woska dropped by and we were out by 11:30, and we proceeded to get mid-11 climbs on the Mota wall - Red Helmet, Eldorado Chewy, then lower grades 2 Pumped Chump and Tlalac, and a few more.

Bus Driver

The bus driver seems to think that he is at the wheel of a sports car. It would seem to me that whoever installed the suspension either expected or agreed with this interpretation - it is incredibly rigid.

Monterray Continues

Monterray still. 10 AM service which was much more attended than the youth service but a little less hands on - I was recognize, it turns out that folks I though Andrea knew she doesn’t, but that’s all cool - I get into the friendly flow of things, and then fun ensues.

Kidnapped!

On Friday, my email included one from Andrea: “We are thinking of coming to visit you on Saturday, between 2 and 6 PM.” I’d responded, saying sounds good, especially since it’s pretty much our last chance.

Individuality

I think that I may have indirectly told Katie Brown and her crew that they were crowding my restaurant, even when I wasn’t eating there. The Posada has a restaurant area, separate from the public kitchen area, and I go there to get drinks. Today it was rather full, and I proclaimed this (as is my manner these days) as I entered. I got a couple of sheepish looks from a crowd of Americans, then their conversation returned to 12d onsights and the likes. If it was that crew (they are in the area these days) then I extend my apologies to ‘Nic.

Movement to Momentum

The day started out slowly with goodbyes to Rainbow and Andy, then generic hanging around. It’s very hot and sunny, I’m a little sore from the sun yesterday.

Estrellas

A good day at Estrellas Canyon, climbing with a fairly big group of people (maybe 10 or so, all told) god on most of the Marklars. Started with Marklar Man, which went clean on lead, then Planet Marklar in the full sun which took a lot more work, and didn’t go clean. More climbing and hanging out ensued.

In two weeks at this time I will be home. Back in Ottawa. I’m very excited about seeing people again, especially Michelle.

Changes

The world is a different place. I think that is self-evident, but it’s that I’m noticing now. Revisiting El Potrero Chico, this time without friends from back home, really drives the point home.
