Again time passes very quickly but slowly at the same time. I don’t have all the time I’d like, to do all the things that I’d want to. I don’t know the systems as inside out as I used to, plus I don’t have a central location for myself. I’ll get back into the city on a more full time basis in a day or two.

Checked in and am sitting in the terminal in Calgary, 2 hours ’til boarding. The check in guy was impressed I was early: “We need more people doing it like that”, he said, and I understood. The line had been huge when I arrived. Only about 40 minutes to get through it, though, and everyone whose flight was near to go got pulled to the front.

11 hours to go. Michelle has been gone for 8 hours already. I caught a bit of the last sunset in Banff, while giving a tour of the apartment to two guys (Dan and Bill) I met at the hostel. They’re the 7th group through since yesterday, with the ad having been on Tuesday.

It’s easy to settle into a place, it’s easy to extend those tendrils of group creation and establishment. For me it is - I get to know people easily, find opportunities and am able to follow them or, if they aren’t made for me, transmit them to others for whom they are more appropriate.

Out last night to see the Mudmen, a band from Toronto area who mix bagpipes with hard rock. There wasn’t much of a crowd, so I got to spend a lot of time with the band. Mostly the brothers who play the pipes. At least before the show - afterwards, they were mobbed. They definitely won the place over.

Got a job, then got accommodations, so quit job, got membership at a local gym and have gone climbing, moved in with Michelle, spent time with ‘Nic, and his van, became part of many peoples lives, if only briefly.
