The end of the month and with it the end of a good time here. I seem to have made good impressions with most people – Sharon asking whether I’d be coming back, Richard inquiring about my near future plans, and the rest of folks having this positive glow towards me, and each other – that’s important too. It’s been generally positive, a few pre-existing personality conflicts, overall good.
I think that, while I expect a few things to possibly happen and hope that a good number of other things do, I differ from at least a good number of regular folk in that I don’t expect order or perfection. Many of the folk I’ve met attending retreats here are looking for some sense of order or perfection, and expect to find some aspect of it. On the other hand, I look to create a sense of order (not actual order) knowing that this sense is purely aesthetic.
Britta, the facilitator of the current workshop “Living with purpose”, is an experienced, wise and fun individual. She’s got a way of leading and teaching others that doesn’t compromise her individuality, which differs from Robert Beattie who is well versed in modifications to his individuality in order to better suit the crowd. I do find her occasional reference to existing tools somewhat out of character for her, but that’s due to my current focus on first hand experience.
I hope to leave some of my enthusiastic energy here, for others to revel in, and also hope that I haven’t pushed the bar too high – that other folks will continue to be accepted as who they are and not compared against anything else.
