So yesterday it was Dryden then Kenora then the Manitoba border, but not before 25 KM of construction with the CB chatter as entertainment. And then the forest teeming with deer, the land getting more and more flat, and then Winnipeg with its city lights and traffic contrasting the calm sunset over fog filled ditches [...]
We’re on the map of Manitoba now, still in Ontario, though, driving through some pretty short pine trees and I’m playing “spot the deciduous tree” while Nick tries to communicate with truckers.
We’d had a bit of bad weather before Marathon, and it was in remittance while we visited the public library, and the Ron’s Donuts that was smoke filled, and when we got on the highway again. At least for a few clicks.

And so the adventure, that began at rush hour on a rainy Friday the 13th, with a [...]
Woke up at Evans place, got my stuff together and said goodbye to Marisa. She’s the last one of the direct group & suddenly the fact that I’m leaving really hits. So I spend the next bit of time trying to decide whether to bottle it up or not.
